Kings Love Entertainment singer King Saha real name Ssemanda Manisul has declared himself the new governor of the Bank Of Uganda as the country continues into the third year without one.
The Governor position has remained formally vacant since Mutebile Emmanuel Tumusiime passed on during his term in office in January 2022.
Ugandan Economist Micheal Atingi-Ego who was appointed Deputy Governor in March 2020 has led the bank since Mutebile’s death.
Speaking before his colleagues, King Saha announced his desire to take the prestigious position since the country is running without appointing anyone.
“I take this opportunity to announce myself as the new Governor of Bank Of Uganda because the post has stayed for a long time without them appointing anyone and no one is actually asking for it. So, the signature you will see on the new money notes, thereafter, will be mine.
This is not bravery but a responsibility. It is upon us to clean our house. I announced myself because of the time we have taken without a bank Governor,” he said amidst cheers from his friends.
