Zari Hassan, Shakib Cham

Zari Hassan reveals she returned to Uganda to reconcile with husband Shakib Cham after their public dispute

After a highly publicized fight, socialite and businesswoman, Zari Hassan has flown back to Uganda to make amends with her husband, Shakib Cham.

The couple’s marriage has been shaky for close to three weeks, following a heated social media live session where Zari The Boss Lady called out her husband for allegedly being jealous and dismissive.

During the live video, Zari Hassan claimed that Shakib was broke and contributed little to their relationship, sparking off a fiery leaked phone conversation from her husband, talking about how he felt disrespected throughout the marriage.

Now seeking to repair their almost-broken marriage, Zari Hassan has returned to the country, and during an interview, Zari acknowledged that she made a mistake publicly shaming her husband, but also expressed her built-up frustrations that led to the outburst.

Zari Hassan
I have a husband only that I messed up somehow like you all know. You get to a point where you get tired of fighting. Things happen and we are bound to make mistakes, we are not perfect. We do things and when you take a step back and rethink your actions, you do better.

I’m a stubborn and independent lady; I mean I’m Zari The Boss Lady but the truth is I made a mistake. Yes, I had my frustrations, and coming on social media to vent didn’t happen out of the blue, it was a buildup. I just vented on the wrong platform but I had my frustrations, she said.

She explained that she had no one else to confide in and turned to social media to vent her emotions which turned out to be a bad idea. Zari Hassan expressed her willingness to work on their relationship, admitting she misses her husband and is accustomed to his presence in her life.

People like us do not have people we confide in because when you try, you find the screenshots and audio leaked to the media. So, you keep to yourself and when they pile up, you blow.

I just used the wrong platform to air it out but I had my frustrations. I’m not mad that I woke up out of the blue to make the Live video. I had a lot and with no one to discuss it with. I’m also human, people think I’m strong but I also break down. I just used the wrong platform to address the issue. But maybe it was therapy for me, Zari Hassan said during an interview.
