Black Market Entertainment singer Martha Mukisa has come forward to address the recent controversies surrounding the photos that went viral on social media two weeks ago showing her in a supposed secret introduction ceremony.
The images were leaked by randomly but without context, sparking speculation that Martha Mukisa had finally decided to settle down with her secret lover.
A week later, she released her new music video dubbed ‘Myumyula’ featuring introduction ceremony scenes, revealing the truth that it was all a video shoot.
In an interview, Martha Mukisa opened up on how much the controversy brought up unexpected publicity. Despite initial frustration, the songstress insinuated that the viral photos increased interest and attention in her new music video.
Martha Mukisa also criticized the media’s culture of snooping into other people’s personal businesses, stating that she had kept the photos private until her video was ready for release.
Their leak, however, was beneficial at some point because it reminded her of the love and support from different people, especially those that she had taken a long time without hearing from.
You people love snooping into people’s businesses. I had kept my stuff to release during the video shoot after it was all done and the video was ready. Personally, I was so confused when I woke up in the morning to many phone calls from many people including those, I have spent a long time without speaking to ask if I was really taken.
I had nothing to do but I think it was a good thing for me as well because it reminded some people of my presence. This made me feel like people actually care about me,” she said.
