Stecia Mayanja has come out to address the speculation surrounding her strained relationship with former bandmate Carol Nantongo, denying allegations of witchcraft and trying to destroy her career.
Media was filled with rumors that Stecia Mayanja was jealous of Carol Nantongo’s skyrocketing career to the point that she practiced witchcraft to see that it went down the drain.
Carol Nantongo made the rumors more believable during her sit-down interview with Mr. Henrie when she confirmed that Stecia worked so hard to see her fail and recalled when she refused to perform because Nantongo was on stage at Freedom City
That woman ordered me to get off stage or else she would not perform. She pointed at me and refused to sing until I got off the stage, Carol narrated a while back.
Upon her landing from Canada where she had been for several years, Stecia was asked to address her alleged hatred towards Carol Nantongo, something she vehemently denied.
People close to me know exactly who I am. Maybe I was not good to her, I do not know but what I’m very sure of is, she is a very good artist. She has a very sweet voice and one of my best.
Stecia Mayanja also revealed that she was among the first people who promoted Nantongo’s music talent to spread out to music fans, also mastering all her songs word for word because of how much she loved her music.
She says she tried reaching out to Carol before she traveled to Mecca to see that they air out their issues but Carol instead wanted to fight with her. She let it go but was surprised to see her in the interview accusing her of things she swears she did not do.
“I was so surprised and wanted someone to remind me of when I did that. I have never done it, heard about it, I can’t possibly do that. I’m one of the people that welcome fresh talent and support them. I swear I love Carol with all my heart and appreciate her music
Stecia Mayanja hopes to attend Carol Nantongo’s maiden concert at Hotel Africana if she invites her there.
