Alexander Bagonza alias A Pass has boldly declared that he is the best artist in Uganda and he doesn’t need to dress differently to stand out in a crowd.
Many musicians have tried to come up with trademark looks to maintain a certain image and be recognizable to their fans but A Pass feels he would rather stay simple and creative than do too much to attract attention.
In an interview with Oga Obinna, the ‘Nkwagala’ hitmaker has revealed that he has chosen the simpler style and he would rather dress in suits than do outrageous outfits to get people talking because his talent was enough to put him on the map.
I believe in creating an aura or persona that is a little different. I have these different kinds of styles because I’m a bit creative. I would rather dress up like James Bond (in a suit) than dress up like a normal artist in jeans and T shirts; anyone can do that and I feel like that is very played out from my level of understanding of fashion. I love to be very simple; I hate doing too much. The same applies to women. I do not like the idea of women doing too much makeup, A Pass noted.
It has become a norm among artists to appear for performances during their concerts dressed in weird clothes. They use this chance to appear unique on their special day but A Pass believes they are using too much theatrics because they are covering up for their lack of talent and believe they should do extra to keep people hooked.

I feel like when people do too much, they are compensating for something. I’m not compensating because I’m a dope artist. I’m the best artist in Uganda, why would I look at myself any less or think that I have to add certain things to make another person think that I’m big or good. There is so much art in my art so why would I do the most? I like to keep it simple, he said.
A Pass also declared that he gets his unique designs custom-made by his stylist based in London and he doesn’t wait for special occasions to put them on like the rest of the artists.
