Musician Ameria Nambala has revealed that she has no plans of getting married traditionally or in church out of her own will.
Several women have openly expressed their desire to walk down the aisle, but Ameria Nambala begs to differ. Giving reasons for her decision, the ‘Byenjagala’ singer explained to Diaspora Connect that she got traumatized following her friend and family members’ experiences.
Ameria, however, does not discourage her friends from getting married. She confessed that she is the happiest and most supportive person if a person close to her chooses to walk down this path.
“I do not dream of a wedding or introduction. I’m not one of those women. I have seen my friends and my sister getting married too. Everything went on well but they separated after just six months. Every time I think about it; it throws me off. Every broken union discourages me from getting married.
“Surprisingly if my friends are getting married, I’m all over the place. I wish it for my friends so much but not for me,” she said.
Nambala may not love the idea of being married, but she believes in the healthy relationship that she is in currently, even when she always turns down her partner when he proposes settling down.
“I know real love and I love being in love. I just recently got an issue in my relationship when my lover wanted to at least do Kukyala. I refused and told him that the good thing is we are in love and that is enough,” she said.
Ameria Nambala was once in a relationship with media presenter Mark Mukunja, but it ended bitterly with both exchanging scathing remarks on television.
