Comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi has revealed that his show will still go on as scheduled despite the unfortunate passing of his friend and fellow comedian, DJ Messe Bontwe, real name Nicholas Mpirwe.
Messe Bontwe, a well-known comedian, and co-founder of the Amarula Family passed away yesterday in the US where he had relocated. News of his sudden death went viral on social media, with fellow comedians and fans paying their tributes.
During the press conference held yesterday by Amooti’s team, Eddy Kigere announced that the concert slated for today will still happen. He explained that they could not cancel the event at such short notice.
Amooti Omubalanguzi instead invited all their fans to come through in large numbers in honor of the fallen talent and to celebrate his legacy.
The late Messe was one of the founders of the Amarula Family with his colleagues the late Paddy Bitama and Amooti Omubalanguzi.
Messe, who also worked as a radio presenter at Super FM, exited the country, settling in the US.
