Bebe Cool who has been one of the pillars of the Ugandan music industry for over 20 years now has issued a challenge to young artists; to come prepared to be ‘destroyed’ if they ever thought about battling him and Jose Chameleone.
The Gagamel boss, who has accumulated a sizable fortune and a loyal fan base, believes that no one can match their level of talent and experience.
And you all see that despite being in the industry for so long, we are untouchables in music. Step on stage at your own risk, dare to battle us at your own risk. Not in bad faith but even God has his own weighing scale, he revealed.
For over twenty years, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, and Jose Chameleone have navigated the music industry together until Bobi Wine who paused his music career to run for the highest political office in the country under opposition that the two do not subscribe to.
The three have dominated the industry, earning them the reputation of being untouchables with their different fan bases dedicated and ready to defend them online and offline.
For Bebe Cool and Jose Chameleone, their friendship has rotated between periods of harmony and fights. In early 2020, their rivalry reached its peak with both artists engaging in a battle of words during interviews with different media houses.
When Bebe Cool gifted his producer Ronnie a brand-new Mark X, Jose Chameleone dismissed the gesture, labeling him as selfish and unsupportive of others’ success. In response, Bebe Cool boasted about his own superiority, claiming he could effortlessly win Chameleone in a music battle, even calling him a coward.
Fast forward, the duo reconciled in 2021 and Bebe Cool cannot stop praising how much of a music genius Chameleone is.
He is a very good performer, otherwise he would not have survived this long. I would not have sat through the show because untalented people do not waste my time. You can’t just carry me from my home when you do not have what it takes, so with that man, you can’t just stay back apart from attending to enjoy the masterpiece, Bebe Cool said after Jose Chameleone’s recently concluded VIP show at Serena Hotel.

When asked if they could one day put politics aside and reconcile with Bobi Wine and give their fans a hit collaboration, Bebe Cool out of frustration cautioned the interviewer to drop the subject, watering down their hopes that they will ever make up.
