Rising singer Aziz Kasujja has come out to address the viral allegations slapped against UNMF president Eddy Kenzo accusing him of stealing a song, Nkuloowozako.
A few weeks back Eddy Kenzo released Nkulowoozako, a love song that got his fans praising him for bouncing back into his old music fans. Just as the song was starting to gain momentum, old videos surfaced on social media with Aziz singing the same song with the exact beat, melody, and lyrics.
This sparked controversies with social media users claiming Eddy Kenzo had stolen the song from Aziz who released it two years back. Several critics accused him of betraying the fight for the Copyright law that he has been working hard to enforce.
During an interview, Aziz addressed the claims and contrary to what people insinuated, he confirmed that he sold the song to Kenzo and they have a written agreement. Explaining the reasons as to why he made the decision, Aziz claimed he was a struggling artist and his song got no airplay.

When Kenzo agreed to buy the song, he did not hesitate. Even when he is the writer, Aziz doesn’t own any rights to the song since Kenzo settled him with a comfortable sum of money they agreed upon.

“I released my song years back but truthfully; it did not go far because of the situation with rising artists in the industry that I can’t explain. I knew my song had flopped and I gave up on it.
After many years, we met with my brother Eddy Kenzo and had a discussion. I agreed to sell him the song. I might not reveal how much he paid for it but it was a good deal with a signed agreement. I’m the writer of the song but it belongs to Eddy Kenzo. I’m clearing the air that he has not broken any copyright laws because I sold him the song,” Aziz Kasujja revealed.
