B2C Entertainment member Mr. Lee has heavily criticized the industry’s key players, accusing them of selfishness and lack of support towards the music industry.
Appearing in an interview, Mr. Lee who was visibly frustrated, noted that these artists have reaped big from the industry but failed to give back.
Mr. Lee revealed that many of these artists started their careers when the industry was still generating money. They were able to establish themselves, get rich, and secure top positions in the country. However, when they got to the top, they sat back and have since failed to help the struggling artists.
Listing examples of Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Chameleone, Ragga Dee, and Eddy Kenzo among others, Mr. Lee revealed that they have the capacity to help but prefer to turn a blind eye.
He encouraged these artists in their respective positions of power and influence to come up with a business sense to help others succeed too.

“There are some things they can do in their capacity to change the industry but they have not. They have left the industry in space. Right now Kenzo is the presidential advisor, we all won’t be in that position. Bebe Cool is affiliated to the government. Bebe Cool started an exquisite studio but it has not helped any young artists. He said he came to help but among all the studios, he is the most expensive.
Bobi Wine is a NUP presidential candidate. Chameleone has the capacity to create a music platform where we can sell music in Uganda because he has a budget. These are the people we would want to champion the industry but they are selfish. I want them to come up with a business sense that takes the industry forward,” he said.
Whereas B2C started doing music ten years ago, Mr. Lee says they have been unfortunate because the industry is no longer lucrative like it was when the established artists started out.
Ragga Dee recently opened up on how they used to sell their music albums for a huge sum of money then and using him as an example, Mr. Lee revealed that it is not the same anymore and he fears that if there is no change, many artists will be forced to stop doing music and look at other businesses for survival.

‘We have been doing music for ten years but we started out when it was tough. We had COVID and in our era even music no longer makes sense.
What have those people done? They are all minding themselves. They are just selfish to the industry and if it doesn’t stop, artists will start doing different things because they do not have any other option,” he said.
