Minister of State for Youth and Children Balaam Barugahara has set the record straight about the meeting he had with singer Fik Gaza.
A while back, the singer visited Hon. Balaam’s office, and videos circulated all over social media, depicting the two having a good time after addressing undisclosed matters.
The videos subsequently generated a social media debate, with NUP subscribers claiming that Fik Gaza had been bribed with a bag of money to turn his back on his party.
To clear out the doubts, Fik Gaza went back to Balaam and before journalists, Balaam made it clear that the singer’s intentions were to partner with the authorities in case they had any raids they were planning to do in the ghetto to arrest the culprits and spare the innocent youths.
Additionally, the singer needed Balaam’s assistance in buying scholastic materials for the school-going children, of which he promised to give him Ugx. 3 million out of his pocket to buy dozens of books to distribute to them.

“Those who say I gave him money are wrong and I will not give him because he is a hardworking person who works for his money. You came here as an emperor and not a beggar. You came to air out the problems concerning the arrests of the Gaza people and your points were clear.

That (Ugx. 3 M) was from me as a minister and not the government. That was little money, it is even less than the money I paid you when booking you for a show. I can’t bribe you to join NRM with such little money. Do not mind what they are saying and stay in your party,” Balaam said.
