Bebe Cool goes bare-knuckle with James Propa over album critique

Musician Bebe Cool has expressed his disappointment in Ugandans who have criticized his newly released album.

Bebe Cool unveiled his much-anticipated ‘Break The Chains’ album a few days back, and it was received with mixed reactions.

Among the people who had something to say was music critic James Propa, who also works as an agent on the music streaming platform, Spotify Africa. While sharing his views about the album on a local podcast, Propa claimed that Bebe Cool was relaxing following the album’s release, rather than booking flights to major cities across the globe to promote it.

In retaliation, the frustrated Gagamel boss called out Propa, whose opinion he claimed no longer mattered, especially after he had held back his take during their phone conversation. He encouraged him to focus on the positive aspects of his album instead of dwelling on his alleged failures.

“Propa was never doing interviews, but when I released my album, he got the opportunity to go out and talk. He is an agent of Spotify and he doesn’t have on his fingers any single Ugandan artist that he has promoted on Spotify to get views internationally.

You have heard the product, and you should focus on the positives and not go around telling people about the things I cannot do,” he said during a phone call with fellow artist A Pass.

Bebe Cool delivered his message during his TikTok live broadcast, where he was meant to appreciate his fans for streaming his album. He, however, couldn’t hold back against addressing the hate he has received so far, especially from his own Ugandan people.
