Bebe Cool warns musicians against using fame to win political offices

Musician Bebe Cool has heavily criticized fellow musicians who rely on their fame to pursue high political offices, even when they lack the necessary qualifications in terms of experience and education.

Bebe Cool made the revelation during his interview with Kiis FM, detailing how musicians are taking advantage of their popularity to manipulate their fans into voting them into office, even when they are incompetent.

Such individuals lack the knowledge of governance and leadership necessary to lead the country towards social and economic development.

“First of all, most of the artists are uneducated. They entered the industry because they were not in school or pursuing any other activities. Governance and leadership require a certain level of education to lead the country into development, both economically and socially. When you are an uneducated artist and you go into politics just because you are famous, it is a huge mess,” he said.

Bebe Cool related his argument to the previous elections when many celebrities contested for leadership under the National Unity Platform card.

Most of them achieved a landslide victory due to the fame of Bobi Wine, the party leader, but ultimately failed to serve the people.

Bebe Cool is confident that the people will vote wisely by not putting them back in office because they have tasted their incompetence.

“I think for the last term, our people have learnt, and I see it on the ground. They will prioritize quality without regard for your fame. This country requires sober-minded individuals, people who engage in thoughtful discussions on national and financial issues to make a difference. You have to legislate and talk about issues that affect the people not sentimental issues. For you to do that, you have to have some English and education,” he revealed.

Bebe Cool’s submission comes to light after several celebrities have openly expressed their interest in participating in elective politics in the upcoming general elections.
