Celebrated singer Bebe Cool has sparked controversy after revealing that his highly anticipated studio album “Break the Chains” was largely produced in Nigeria citing the popularity and success of their work across the globe.
Bebe Cool is among the artists who have over the years criticized the dominance of Nigerian music playing in Uganda, however, joined forces with Nigerian producers and songwriters to actualize his album.
During his interview with the Vybe Lyfe YouTube channel, the Gagamel boss asserted that he was joining the winning team because Ugandan producers did not match his taste and could not put his music on the international level.
He is currently targeting a broader audience by collaborating with Nigerians and when he gets to the top, he will proudly present his local roots.
I only move with the winning team, if the Ugandan team has not yet won, I’m very sorry but I will go with the winning team.
If Nigerians have managed to conquer America and the rest of the world with Afro beats, how about Uganda? Let us not us blind ourselves with reality. Reality is, Afro-beat is number one in the world so if we want to be seen somewhere, we should join the band and when we get there on top of the world, we can present our Kidandali.
But you are releasing music which doesn’t even cross to Kenya, and you say you are looking for a dollar. I finally understood success and for you to be successful you must relate with the successful people,” he explained.
Bebe Cool announced the release of this new album dubbed ‘Break The Chains’ that he said would unite Africans.
