Fire Base proprietor and NUP party leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu best known as Bobi Wine has finally been cleared to enter Dubai.
On Friday 07, October 2022 Bobi Wine traveled to Dubai ahead of the charity concerts aimed at rising funds to assist Ugandans and African Immigrant workers stuck in UAE.
His phone and travel paperwork were confiscated the moment he set foot at the Dubai airport, before being grilled for hours.
But after being questioned about his party NUP, the phone numbers of its leaders, and those of his family members, among other requirements, he was given the all-clear to carry out his duties in Dubai.
After 12 hrs,( 8:30pm to 9:30am) I’ve been finally allowed into Dubai. Hoping that our charity concert, which seemed to be the source of these issues, will be allowed to proceed. We’re only trying to raise awareness and assist the many Ugandan and African Immigrant workers.

In a tweet, Bobi Wine provided an update on the situation and expressed optimism that the charity concerts that appeared to be the cause of his detention will be permitted to go on as scheduled.

The singer is expected to take the stage at the Abu Hail Club Stadium in Dubai today 8 October, before Villagio Hotel & Resort on October 9, 2022.
The money collected from the proceedings will be offered to help Ugandans who are stuck in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and other parts.
