After a life-threatening medical condition, Catherine Kusasira is back home with a strong message for all those she thought were her friends. Earlier in March, the band singer was diagnosed with a ‘Fatty Heart’, prompting her to be flown to the USA for surgery before it could get critical.
Her road to recovery was long and challenging but the singer and presidential adviser managed to pull through. During an interview after Haruna Mubiru’s successful concert, Catherine Kusasira thanked all the people who stood with her during this difficult time.
“I thank everyone who stood by me. Every media house that showed support, everyone that made sure I was doing okay, this particular person that took care of me on my sickbed, I won’t say his name because I have very many haters but he knows I love him so much and I send him a special thank you,” she said.
The tough experience, however, has taught her who her real friends are since many of them did not check up on her despite them being ‘close’. In an interview, Catherine expressed her outrage and disappointment at the lack of support from them, revealing that she had now totally cut off communication by deleting their numbers.
“I hated people during that time, every one of them that was not there for me. I deleted all contacts of people who never cared from my phone. If you know you were never there for me during the bad times, I do not love you and please do not pretend to love me,” she said.
Many reports claimed that she used her illness as an excuse to relocate just like many other Ugandan artists who have gone abroad to look for greener pastures.

“They said I was faking it and running abroad to seek asylum but this is not a problem. People live abroad because of such issues,” she revealed.
Now that her health is back on track, Catherine Kusasira is preparing to pursue her political career come 2026 as the Woman MP Buikwe.
