Crysto Panda explains exit from teen-focused gigs, cites little pay

Crysto Panda has explained why he stopped hosting and working with teenagers and youths, saying there is no money.

Throughout his career, Panda, as an events host, had specialized in children’s and teens’ events until he gave up. Now entirely focused on adult shows and events, Crysto Panda, in an interview with Galaxy TV, explains the shift, citing low returns.

Panda acknowledged that throughout his time, he was able to garner love and a massive fan base from the little ones, but confessed that it came with very little pay. In his explanation, Panda noted that while he was younger, he did it for love, but realized he needed to start earning real money from it and develop himself; therefore, shifting his passion.

“You never earn money from it, and if you see anyone doing such shows, just know they are doing it to build their name, but it is hard. At first, it was out of passion, but as you grow, you realize you’re behind on many things, and then you wake up.

You grow with them, create a fanbase that will give you money in the future, and the decision makers in big companies, but as we speak, you cannot get enough money from them, money that can develop you as a man. I realized earlier and left that sector,” he said.

Panda’s journey to becoming a teen’s favourite started during his time as a school quiz host on WBS TV. He then joined T-Nation on NTV and worked there for a long time, visiting various schools. He gained massive popularity before officially starting his music career.

Crysto Panda held his first-ever solo event, dubbed ‘The Panda Turnup,’ at Hickey grounds in Lugogo, five years ago. Despite the massive turnout, he collected Ugx 25 million, which he says was not enough to cover the organization’s expenses.

“It is hard to get even 5000 children. The highest number you will likely get is 2000, of which each one of them will be paying like 5-10K; that is little money and it can’t cover the basics like the venue, systems, and all,” Crysto Panda revealed.
