Daddy Andre, Pretty Banks

Daddy Andre and Pretty Banks clash over the latter allegedly plagiarizing Winnie Nwagi’s song

Fast-rising singer Pretty Banks lost her cool in the studio following accusations of plagiarizing one of Winnie Nwagi’s songs

The claims had earlier been made public by renowned producer Daddy Andre who revealed that Pretty Banks transposed the keys to Winnie Nwagi’s ‘Jangu’ for her ‘Insido’ song, something that triggered the singer.

Daddy Andre and Pretty Banks clash happened midway through their interview in Galaxy FM studios where they had been hosted alongside Dokta Brain, the writer behind the ‘Insido’ lyrics.

Pretty Banks rubbished Daddy Andre’s claims, stating that she went to the studio and sold to D’Mario (the first producer of the song) the idea of how she wanted the beat to flow.

Pretty Banks, who was backed up by Dokta Brain, insisted that the beats were original and made from scratch.

“I was in the studio myself and I brought up the idea of that beat and how I wanted it to sound; it was never copied. It was an original beat and I do not know where he got it from. It was composed raw. I called the writer in the studio with D’Mario as the producer. In my mind I wanted to work with Dokta Brain but I had something specific I wanted,” she swore.

Pretty Banks further noted that she was not moved when she first heard Daddy Andre’s accusations because she is a die-hard fan of the Swangz Avenue star’s music but termed the accusations as baseless and all made up.

“It did not hurt me because I love Winnie Nwagi to death; she is one of my favorite artists but I think this gentleman (Daddy Andre) here said something based on how he felt in his mind and quickly concluded that it was the reality. This (Dokta Brain) is the writer and I’m the singer; we were both there,” she said.
