David Lutalo has come out to strongly deny allegations from the public that he has ever received handouts from the government or conspired with the ruling party supporters to share government funds.
David Lutalo has continuously faced backlash for his refusal to side with the opposition in addressing the ongoing economic and political situation in the country. His silence has led people to believe that he is siding with the government.
In one of his concert press conferences, David Lutalo pulled out the Holy Bible and swore that he has never connived with the government nor had any secret undocumented dealings with the government aides to share taxpayers’ money.
My biggest challenge is those people saying that I ate government money but I want to try and convince only my fans; the rest can take what they want.
I’m holding this Bible and with God being witness, not at any one moment have I ever connived with this government to get money from it or even promote their projects. It has never happened at any one point in my life for the government to give me money, David Lutalo swore.
The ‘Kwasa’ hitmaker further denied allegations that he used funds from the government to acquire his studio equipment, saying he bought all this using his own money.
There has been a trend of musicians facing backlash with many being pelted with bottles and having boycotted concerts for receiving handouts from the government.
