Grace Khan

Balemezi Tonny speaks out why he confiscated Grace Khan’s bag; It was due to an unpaid transportation fees

Balemezi Tonny Hope the driver who took Grace Khan’s bag has spoken out on the drama that unfolded when she appeared on a live broadcast accusing the NUP fraternity of theft.

ThBalemezi was connected to her by her nail technician and he always drove her around every time she visited Masaka.

This particular evening, as they drove from Kyotera to Masaka they had a slight disagreement and Grace tried opening the car door to jump out while the car was moving at a high speed.

Out of fear, Balemezi was forced to park the car at the next petrol station and had a discussion ending their working relationship.

“I told her to delete my number and never contact me again. I then asked her to give me my money and take her things out of my car. There was no way I would continue driving a person who wanted to kill herself from my car; I would be charged for the crime,” Balemezi said.

Grace Khan reportedly did not have the money to pay the driver and that is where chaos ensued. He threatened to take her to CPS, Masaka to report his case but before they got there, he changed his mind and asked her to hand over her luggage promising she would get it the next day after paying his money.

“I didn’t want to embarrass her since she thinks she is a celebrity. I told her to take her phone and small belongings in the small bag but leave behind the suitcase as security for my money. I promised her that I wouldn’t touch it,” Balemezi Tonny said.

Grace Khan allegedly handed him Shs. 20K which he says was not enough to buy the fuel his Harrier Kawundo wasted driving her from to and from Kyotera.

Grace Khan then tried to escape, forcing the driver to lock the car and drive towards the police station, just as they got there, Grace started screaming that a thief had stolen her bag.

“The policemen knew me, and I narrated to them how everything had happened. They asked her to pay me and she started recording me and accusing the police of not caring about her case. The police summoned her to come to the station with my money, but she said she did not have it,” Balemezi said.

He was allowed to walk away with her luggage which he says is still in his possession up to this time.
