Big Talent musician Eddy Kenzo has chickened out on the public debate he had earlier suggested to have with Azawi.
The news that the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) had chickened out of the debate was confirmed by NBS After5 show host Douglas Lwanga via his X account.
“I have cancelled the one debate I proposed with Azawi,” Eddy Kenzo told Douglas.
Eddy Kenzo’s debate cancellation follows his media interview, where he openly challenged Azawi to a one-on-one debate to address their misconceptions.
Subsequently, Azawi expressed her gratitude for Eddy Kenzo’s acceptance of her long-awaited dialogue. However, she put up a few conditions before engaging in the challenge.
Since they all grew up from humble backgrounds and struggled their way to the top, Azawi felt that it would be fair to hold the debate in the ghettos where their stories began.

She wished for people from the surrounding areas to attend the sessions, where they would discuss several issues on which they had previously disagreed.

Eddy Kenzo’s backing down has sparked mixed reactions from social media users who have tagged him as a coward. They claim he couldn’t outdebate Azawi, who is a known public speaker with the interests of the ordinary people at heart.
