Eddy Kenzo has reaffirmed his love and admiration for fellow musician Mikie Wine, explaining his absence at his concert. Despite their past collaboration and close working relationship, the two were separated by their differing political views.
In the interviews after his concert, Mikie Wine opened up about how he harbors no ill feelings towards Eddy Kenzo and expressed his concerns on why he failed to turn up in person.
In his defense, the Big Talent boss acknowledged the big role Mikie Wine played at the start of his music career, describing him as a brother.
While he did not reveal the exact reason as to why he did not turn up despite having encouraged people to support Mikie Wine’s concert, many speculate that his decision may have been influenced by political factors.
Some believe that he may have feared the possible hostility from the audience, a growing trend at concerts where musicians with differing political ideologies are pelted with empty bottles while on stage.
Nevertheless, Eddy Kenzo has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a positive relationship with Mikie Wine out of respect despite their personal differences.
Mikie is my brother and I will have a discussion with him. He knows the reason as to why I did not go for his show but he personally knows I was with him in spirit. He knows how much I love him because he is my boy.
But I know he understands the situation. Maybe he got mad because he might have wanted his brother to be there for him physically but he knows what is happening. I do not want to badmouth him because he was once my boss and I have to respect him,” he said.
