King Saha, Eddy Kenzo

Eddy Kenzo refutes involvement in fighting King Saha’s concert, emphasizes support and unity

Singer Eddy Kenzo has come out to defend himself against claims of fighting King Saha’s concert.

Born Mansoor Ssemanda, King Saha made history last Friday following his successful concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, and in a post-concert presser, he called out the federation for sitting back and watching as his show was being targeted by Police.

Criticizing the federation president Eddy Kenzo, King Saha claimed that none of the leadership in the music industry showed support or even performed, painting a picture that segregated those who did not subscribe to them.

Eddy Kenzo in his defense dismissed King Saha’s claims saying that he did not stand to gain anything if his concert was canceled because it would also mess with the earnings of the people involved.

He recounted getting calls from events promoter, Abitex, and manager Roger to help them sort out the mess with the police.

“What do I gain if Saha’s show doesn’t happen? If it happens, our people working at the gate, the food vendors that sold at the show, all these got jobs; even for him, it meant earning money. All this becomes beneficial to me. It not happening was risky.

“They called me more than ten times up to when we had everything under control and in the end the show took place and I wished them good luck. You can ask all these people; I helped their show to take place,” he said.

Explaining his absence at the show, Eddy Kenzo noted that he had personal engagements that he needed to handle on that particular day, therefore he could not make it.
