Renowned female deejay and radio presenter Etania Mutoni has publicly called out fellow deejay and colleague at NRG Radio, DJ Vee for allegedly sabotaging her career.
In a video shared on her Snapchat account, Etania Mutoni expressed her disappointment and frustration with DJ Vee’s actions, claiming that she has been telling promoters not to book her.
Etania Mutoni emphasized that, as one of the few female deejays in the industry, they should be supporting and uplifting each other, rather than trying to bring each other down.
She also pointed out that this kind of behavior sets a bad example for the young aspiring female deejays who are entering the industry.
Etania claimed to have evidence of DJ Vee’s sabotage from the promoter with whom they were trying to negotiate a price for the gig that she was being booked for. The Kampala Crème star revealed that DJ Vee recommended another female deejay, Hady instead of her.
However, Etania Mutoni took offense at the fact that Vee spoke negatively about her brand.
One of the cores of NRG radio is to push our talent and push all of us. That is why we all are on the stages of the events. How are you in another country where you are supposed to uplift another female and your first thought is to tell them not to book me because I’m a bad deejay.
So, I do not want to come here and argue about gigs and bookings. Not to blow my own trumpet but at least by now I can’t fight for gigs. That aside I just feel we need to talk about this. There are young girls that are coming up that are going to be deejays and if they find such an industry where people who have been here longer are badmouthing them and trying to fight and sabotage them; we won’t have deejays at the end of the day.
We are working together as a collective; you went, another deejay will go. People like deejay Vee, I’m disappointed in you and it is not even beef or hate. You are among the first female deejays and to see that you can’t even pave a way for the young female deejays that are coming.
I like what you did that you put Hady’s name there; that is a very good thing but you do not tarnish someone’s brand to put someone else there because I did speak to the promoter. When we were still arguing about fees, I tried to tell him to try and get deejay Hady because that is what people do. These are people who have been in the industry longer than you but are still putting you down, Etania Mutoni stated.
According to DJ Vee, Edith, the promoter in question approached her claiming that she wanted to book Etania Mutoni but was going to cancel on her because of how she insulted Zahara Toto who appears to be a very close friend to her (Edith) on their reality show, Kampala Creme.
I told her if she was not going to bring her, she should not tell her about the issues of Kampala Crème. So, I called Zahara and told her everything, asking her if it was right. Zahara said it was different from the job. Young Money recommended Hady to her because she had already said she was not bringing Etania Mutoni.
DJ Vee believes the promoter had her own money issues with them which is why she decided to lie and fabricate stories about them.

She is not a bad deejay. First of all, Edith asked me for the numbers of female deejays and I gave her many of them including Etania’s. she is just biased because they had a disagreement with Young Money who refused to pay her money,” she said on her Snapchat handle.
