Young rapper Felista Di Supersta, born Faith Nanyanzi has revealed that she is currently studying to become a politician in the future when she can no longer do music.
According to Felista Di Supersta, there comes a time when an artist has to hang up the microphone and transition to another career, and for her sake, it will be politics.
Felista Di Supersta listed NUP leader Bobi Wine and Hon. Racheal Magoola who paused doing active music to pursue their political careers in 2017 and 2021 respectively. Although they still perform once in a while, they no longer release music like it was the case before.
The 13-year-old draws inspiration from these two artists, explaining how it is possible to create a sustainable impact outside the music industry. While she doesn’t believe that her career as a musician will fail, she will outgrow it and create space for the upcoming generation after her.
No, I will not abandon music. But a person can’t keep singing forever for the rest of their lives. It gets to a point when you have to let it go.
Like you see H.E Bobi Wine, he did music for a long time and settled for some other things. Same as Racheal Magoola too; see where she is right now. These are the people that inspire me to go for it. When music doesn’t do it for me anymore, I will go for politics. That is my dream.
You have to outgrow it at some point. Even your fans will be telling you to pave the way for others. By then, you have to get some other things to do,” Felista said.
