Rapper Fik Fameica, born Shafic Walukagga has explained why he is still stuck with producer Artin Pro who he says has played a big role in his music journey.
Fik Fameica kicked off his professional music career close to eight years back and Artin Pro was behind the production of his breakthrough song. Acknowledging his tremendous support, the rapper confessed that he discovered his ability and explored more of his talent while with Artin.
He may have worked with other producers but Fik Fameica confesses that Artin understands him most and has produced 60% of his biggest songs.
When I found Artin, I discovered myself and who I was, I created my style of music with him. He understands me so much, and vice versa. Working with a producer who is also your friend makes your work easier. He knows who you are, knows your weaknesses, your efforts but going to someone who doesn’t understand you will not know how to deal with you, he said.
As an artist, Fik Fameica is sometimes booked throughout the day with little time for the studio. He, however, gives Artin credit because he is always adjusting his timetable to give him studio time.
It has to be someone who gets you and your schedule. As a friend, he is always available, he said.
During his breakthrough, Fik Fameica came up with his signature style, a unique sound where he blended Afrobeats, hip-hop, and some bit of dancehall; all thanks to Artin who was of great help in shaping this.

When you are with your producer, you have your unique sound. When I met Artin, we were both very fresh and were able to come up with something new in the market, he noted.
