Rising artist Gloria Bugie has expressed her willingness to change her dress code if music fans kept booking her for other events outside of concerts and night shows.
It’s been a year since her debut and Gloria Bugie is one of the few female artists who do not shy away from exposing her body to her fans as long as they are having fun and enjoying watching her. She has often shown up on stage dressed in revealing clothes, making her a source of controversy.
With her sense of fashion, the ‘Bankyawa’ singer is often booked for shows and club appearances. She, however, has expressed her desire to change her dress code if it will get her booked to perform at functions like weddings and introduction ceremonies.
I have not yet started performing at these functions so if I’m performing at concerts, that is the dress code and I’m not bothered. I have no problem with the dress code there and I can easily adjust. They just need to book me, let me know what they want me to dress up in and that is exactly what I will put on, she said.
Gloria Bugie further expressed her disappointment towards all those who keep criticizing her fashion sense, calling them backward and rigid individuals who are not willing to change their mindset in the fast-developing world.
Don’t tell me that I was the worst dressed female performer of the night on that show. But they had to talk about me because I have all their attention and God’s grace. They keep talking about me because they love me so much and what they say doesn’t affect me. This shows that they watch my music and I’m making money in the end. I can’t blame Ugandans because it is just one year since my debut. They need time to get used to me.

Ugandans are so local and stagnant in one place. They do not like progress. This is a third-world country and we are still stuck there and not moving with the trends. We need to revamp our industry and put it on top like other countries, Gloria Bugie said.
