Grenade Official On The Inspiration Behind Angry ‘Mbwa Mwe’ Lyrics

Singer Grenade Official has revealed the inspiration behind his famous song ‘Mbwa Mwe’, noting that he used it as a means to settle scores with the people he had personal issues with at that time.

Grenade Official released ‘Mbwa Mwe’ (loosely translated to mean ‘You Dogs’) in May and using angry lyrics, he seems to be warning to get back at all the people who did him wrong. He kept questioning how selfish a human being could get towards the other.

Grenade Official in an interview revealed that at the time of recording this song, he was going through what seemed like a betrayal and looked for the right words to address what he was feeling.

“I was not abusing anyone but there are things that go beyond you. I might have used a lot of anger to record that song but it was too much for me at that time. I do not regret recording that song because it is very good plus the message that is in. I did not directly insult people but I used the word ‘dog’ meaning the everyday animal. Sometimes some people can become a problem in your life,” he said.

Grenade Official recently gave his life to Jesus Christ during one of celebrity pastor Wilson Bugembe’s services at the Worship House in Nansana. He has since confessed that he is now a changed man and we won’t be hearing him record such songs again.

“Right now, I just leave everything to God. I looked for ways to fight these people and failed, so I turned all the anger into a song. Now that I’m born again, I forgive everyone.

You won’t be hearing me fighting and singing songs hitting at them. But still, I spoke for the people out there who have been hurt, they loved this song because they relate to it.
