Ugandan musician Grenade Official, whose real name is Deus Ndugwa, is now a free man following his arrest on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in China.
Over the weekend, Grenade Official’s management took to social media to announce the musician’s arrest and detention in China.
While addressing the matter, Grenade’s manager, Joram Mukisa, revealed that they had entered the country on a tourist Visa; however, the singer performed at several events, contrary to the country’s laws.
Joram stressed that before Greande could step on stage, he had first to secure a work permit authorizing him to perform in China.

After several efforts, Grenade has been released today, 16th June 2025, and provided an update about the development via his official social media platforms.

The singer is expected to return to the country soon and will provide a detailed report about his arrest and subsequent release.
