Dubai-based promoters have opened up on why singer D-Star known for his hit song Hoozambe was denied performance in the city.
Earlier today, Hoozambe took to his socials to express his frustration following being stranded at the Entebbe International Airport while fellow singer Lil Pazo Lunabe jetted ahead of a Dubai performance.
The group had been booked to perform in Dubai in the ‘Hoozambe Mu Enkudi Mu Overnight’ show at Cats Club, but Hozambee was reportedly informed that the event had been called off.
According to the ‘Shifura’ hitmaker, he arrived at the airport as early as 6 AM for check-in, and Lil Pazo who he was meant to travel with, arrived at 7 PM but disappeared. On contacting Lunabe, had switched off his phone.
He later got the news that the show had been canceled at the last minute and while he was still figuring out what next, he viewed Lil Pazo’s WhatsApp status updates, revealing that they were actually on their way to perform without him.
D-Star claimed he had been used to advertise the show, riding on the fame of his popular song to promote the event without his knowledge.
Giving their side of the story, the event promoters revealed that Hoozambe is currently 17 years old, hence ineligible to perform in Dubai.
Furthermore, the event organizers made it clear that being below 18 years, Hoozambe was denied the Dubai Visa, citing he could only be permited to access the city if acompanied by one of his parents.
The aforementioned challenges saw the event organizers drop the Hoozambe from the performance line-up, and Lil Pazo Lunabe is expected to solely take on the stage.
