Lugaflow rapper GNL Zamba and his wife Miriam Tamar shocked listeners with news that they fell in love the very first day they crossed paths in a bar.
The couple met way back in 2012 when Tamar was working at Fenon Entertainment and pursuing a solo career. Their love story kicked off on this fateful night when GNL Zamba had successfully completed his music tour in Northern Uganda, and while hanging out with friends to celebrate his success, he met this beautiful woman with whom he instantly connected.
“We were at the back of one of the popular bars in Kololo, hiding away from people, she came and joined the group where we were and the conversation began. All I could see was this very beautiful woman telling very good stories. We told stories for the entire night and my friends left us alone in the bar. We enjoyed each other’s conversation and company,” GNL Zamba recounted.
Unlike most couples who first establish a friendship bond before deciding to pursue love, it was love at first sight for the Nsimbis and their immediate connection propelled Tamar to move into his apartment a week later but maintained her solo career.
“It was love at first sight so I can’t say it started as a friendship. It was love, connection and friendship all at once. We both continued to do our solo careers for many years because I felt I wanted to be independent and my own person, my own artist,” she said.
Their union birthed their music group ‘Nsimbi Music’, best known for releasing songs blended in rich acoustic African sounds, and native instruments with a touch of Luga Flow.
For the years they have been together, the couple has continued to celebrate love, blended different cultures, showcased their love for fashion, diversity, and traveled across the globe together.

“At some point we decided it was time to be creative together, which we love because we share that passion, and also have the opportunity to travel and perform together,” Tamar concluded.
As their affection grew stronger, the couple tied the knot in 2018 at Cielo Farms vineyards in Malibu, California, before welcoming their first child together in 2023.
