Five years back, renowned gospel singer Julie Mutesasira fled Uganda to Canada after divorcing her husband Pastor Stephen Mutesasira.

During Canada’s Got Talent auditions on Tuesday night, Julie Mutesasira acknowledged subscribing to the LGBT community.

She stressed that her decision is one of the reasons she left Uganda because being a gay woman in the country and one time married to a Pastor was an abomination.

Julie Birungi and Jean got married a few years back, and the pair are leaving a happy life thereafter.

In December 2020, the singer reunited with her two kids Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira in Canada where she had sketched a better life for them.

Julie Mutesasira’s revelation has since generated divergent reactions from internet users, as some disagree with her move of declaring being a lesbian in front of her kids, while others find it okay for someone to unleash her sexuality regardless of the place or people surrounding her.

The brother-sister singing duo Esther and Ezekiel thanked their mum for getting them into singing at a very early age and persistently pushing their music career to greater heights.
