For years now, singer Irene Namubiru and her biological mother Justine Nyanzi Namawejje have been at loggerheads over land.
Ever since the singer claimed ownership of the one acre of land her grandfather Godfrey Nyanzi Ssemitego gave her, things have never been the same between her and the mother.
Irene Namubiru revealed that her grandfather gifted her and the brother Roberto Nsimbe Ezau with one acre of land each, though it was a verbal agreement.

However, the singer’s mother wanted to steal her acre of land, hence the prevailing wrangles tearing the family apart.
Over the weekend, Irene Namubiru took to her social media, revealing how her mother is staining her name with allegations that she put her behind bars.
The singer emphasized that she is not willing to lock up her mother, and neither has she ever filed any case against her in court like she tells people.
The singer further noted that the mother is in Mityana destroying, selling, and ferrying away their property illegally.
The Byokola singer said for the 20 years she has been tight-lipped protecting her mother’s dignity, she has gained nothing but rather wrath from her very own.
Contrary to what you are about to hear or watch on TV, NO! NO and No I have not put my mother in prison as she is calling and telling everyone (reporters, bloggers now)! she is in Mityana destroying whatever she can by day then selling and ferrying away all by night illegally. It’s very sad that I have to do this here but after over 20 years of silence, I am going to have to defend myself from my own mother and her children I need to live my life. I have not talked all this time simply because she is my MOTHER!! For her dignity!
