Musician Jamal Wasswa has explained why he does not attend or support fellow artists when they stage their shows.
During an interview with Sanyuka TV, Jamal, commonly known as Omusomesa, gave the excuse that he would not turn up to support an artist who had not invited him out of fear of being bounced.
“I do not go if they have not been invited. I don’t want to be bounced at the entrance. Sometimes, someone has to reach out to you. I cannot just take myself,” he said.
Jamal acknowledged being invited to some shows but did not appear because he was unavailable. He was usually busy handling personal business and couldn’t make it. He has honoured invitations from artists like Aziz Azion.

“I cannot list the ones that invited me because I didn’t make it, which would be disrespectful to them. I had many shows lined up already, and they were outside Kampala. But I go where I’m invited,” he stated.

Jamal Wasswa was a hot item who dominated the airwaves in the 2000s, and his songs significantly helped mend broken hearts. He, however, vanished, and in one of his previous interviews, he blamed bad management for his music stagnation. He revealed that he was releasing good music but was not earning enough, hence the music break.
