FreeBoy Adams has opened up about how his dreams of being signed under Swangz Avenue were sabotaged by Jaylor Birungi, a talent manager under the label.
When he professionally started his music career, FreeBoy and his management were looking at striking a deal with Swangz Avenue to manage the artist but under the umbrella of Viva Entertainment where he was signed.
It was his dream to work with the prestigious label and since Benon one of the stakeholders knew him and had talked to Julius about how far he had come in the music industry.
FreeBoy says they sought the knowledge of lawyers at Katende & Advocates and when they visited Swangz Avenue, they were handed over to Jaylor, Azawi’s current manager.
This is when things took a quick turn as Jaylor refused to step up as she was supposed to do. FreeBoy claimed the manager was supposed to teach him how to handle media, speak before the press, and do interviews among many things that she supposedly thought were a burden to her.

“I think Jaylor thought I was so green about a lot things and she had no time to teach me. I was just a simple boy from Arua and maybe he thought it would take a long time for me to grasp. In all this, I just continued being humble and quiet because I wanted to learn,” FreeBoy noted.
Days after meeting up, FreeBoy claims Jaylor stopped picking up her calls or returning messages and the deal with Swangz Avenue went down the drain.
“I think she thought I would make her job complicated because I wasn’t her type of artist. The deal went just like that and I just had to continue with my business,” he said.
After a long time, FreeBoy’s career picked up pace and he finally got the long-awaited phone call from Swangz Avenue, this time with Julius requesting for a meeting.
“This time I was the hot cake and they called me for the board meeting. I thank Julius for giving me a chance after listening to my music. He asked me what my next move was in case the meeting wasn’t successful but since I was a hustler, I told them I would go back to studio. I was confident that the meeting would be a success because I had passion. He gave me a chance to collaborate with their best artist, Winnie Nwagi,” he said.
