John Blaq has shared a distressing and emotionally challenging experience he encountered while organizing his maiden ‘Ayabass’ Concert, vowing never to undergo the same experience because it threatened his life.
John Blaq had his first and only solo concert so far way back in 2019 at Freedom City, an experience he says left him traumatized and almost took his life.
For five years, his fans have been yearning to have him back on stage to entertain them and according to John Blaq, fully engaging in concert organization requires a lot of work and resources that he is not willing to go through alone.
He prefers to wait for the right promoter to help handle the baggage citing he hates stress. For now, he is focused on performing on other people’s shows and releasing music for his fans.
The last time I engaged myself in organizing a concert, I almost lost my life. It was really stressful. I put in a lot of money but it didn’t come out even when the turn up was very good because the costs are so high. I just want to enjoy my life and sing for the people; the good thing I do shows, he said.
John Blaq, however, has not entirely ruled out chances of staging a second solo concert. He revealed that he is currently talking with different promoters and sponsors to collaborate on a concert that he hopes to stage in 2025.
There are certain people I have started engaging so next year, I believe we shall put up one. When you see me finally staging a concert, you will know I’m singing from the bottom of my heart and not worried about anything going wrong. Not like last time when I stood on stage and started counting attendees. For now, your job as fans is to support me and demand for the concert until the right person comes through to organize one, he confirmed.
John Blaq’s maiden concert happened at Freedom City and party animals from across the country flocked and filled up the venue to support their idol on his huge milestone.

Despite the huge numbers, John Blaq maintained that ticket sales alone do not guarantee financial gain and for an artist to reap big from a concert, they need to have big sponsors who inject in a lot of money.
