Jose Chameleone’s ‘Best Of Jose Chameleone’ was a momentous occasion, making 25 years of his illustrious music career. The event was a testament to his enduring impact on the industry and in return, he set aside special awards to honor those who have contributed to the challenging journey.
The first recipient of the Vinyl-shaped frame award was none other than Bebe Cool, his long-time friend and fellow music pioneer.
Their relationship stems from way back in Nairobi and they have been through ups and downs including public feuds and music battles. Yet, their bond remains strong, a testament to their shared history and the respect they have for each other.
As Jose Chameleone presented the award, he could not stop praising Bebe Cool for his unending support through the difficult times of his life.
People who added something to this journey that I have walked for 25 years. Bebe Cool, this is the award for you. I want everyone to know that I love you so much and you are part of the story, thank you,” Chameleone said as he called him on stage.
But to his surprise, Bebe Cool stepped up on the enormous meticulously Fenon Fecords crafted stage holding an award of his own to present to Chameleone. He honored the Leone Island boss’ resilience and dedication to his craft, despite the challenges he has faced in the country.
“Before I release my feelings, I want to receive that award but before I do so, I want to present one for you for 25 years of meaningful, sensitive music through the hard times. The country has been one of the hardest places to live but even in the hardest times, we persevere. I’m here to witness the pain that most people do not understand who we are. But tonight, you just opened up. This is the Chameleone I have wanted people to witness and understand greatness
Joseph found me in Nairobi and I was in a good mood. We lived together for over three years but I have witnessed a good man with good intentions to make it in life and represent his country, standing against every evil,” he said as they hugged and exchanged the awards.

Immediately after exchanging the gifts, Jose Chameleone had an early birthday surprise for Bebe Cool who marked his 47th birthday on 1st September.
Singing the birthday song, Jose Chameleone wheeled on stage a three-tier cake for his friend to cut as he celebrated his new year.
The Legend in Gold concert left a watershed moment in the Ugandan music industry, not only for Jose Chameleone’s jaw-dropping performance among other highlights, but also because of the state-of-the-art stage, lighting, and sound that were diligently crafted and delivered by Fenon Records.
