Singer Jose Chameleone has confirmed the postponement of his Ggwanga Mujje concert following his stage collapsing due to the heavy downpour earlier today.
Today 10th February 2023, was the D-day for singer Jose Chameleone to hold his long-anticipated Ggwanga Mujje concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, the Fenon Records-built stage was unable to survive the powerful storm that the torrential rains caused.
According to pictures going viral on social media, the stage was destroyed by the rainstorms, sabotaging the event plans.
Speaking to the media, Chameleone disclosed that in order to provide better services, he had no choice but to postpone his event until the 24th of February 2023.
All of the tickets that have been sold remain valid, according to the concert organizers, and they will be used to enter the event on the rescheduled date.
The singer has maintained that his show in Mbarara and other parts of the country are unaffected and will go on as earlier planned.
The concert’s promoter, Biggie Events, has verified the news in a press release posted on their social media accounts.
“We regret to inform you that due to the effects of the severe rain and wind occurring in the afternoon hours of Feb. 10, 2023, the infrastructure for the Gwanga Mujje Concert was damaged, fortunately, there were no fatalities.
