Legendary musician Joseph Mayanja, known by his stage name Jose Chameleone, a few days ago took music lovers who attended the African Descent Society & Festival in Vancouver, Canada by storm, putting up a thrilling performance that left the revelers wonderstruck. His stage presence marked a significant moment in his career as he continued to make international moves.
After the show, the Leone Island singer took a moment to address his fans, thanking them for their overwhelming support since he started his career. However, he also called out people who tend to focus on the drama and negativity tagged to his name on social media and ignore the posts that speak about his successes.
“I see people on social media ignoring the amazing things we do like these. But please press the like button. Do not wait for drama or something against me to engage. What you have witnessed was not me performing in Masaka but in Vancouver; a place with multicultural people.
If you see them showing us such kind of love, do not just scroll, press the like button. I want to tell Ugandans without any fear, please stop hating on people doing great things. Do not bring your negativity,” he said.
In a bold move, Jose Chameleone announced his upcoming show slated for 30th August and extended an invitation to all his fans and lovers, except those who harbor hate and always choose to jump on sides that go against him.
“If you feel you do not like me or even hate Ugandan music, please stay at home on that day. If you love me and have supported me for the past 25 years, please come and celebrate with me,” he concluded.
The event will make a huge milestone in Jose Chameleone’ over two-decade music career as he will be celebrating 25 years of doing music nonstop and it is only fair if he shares it with the people who have loved and supported him throughout his journey.
