Joshua Baraka, Daddy Andre

Joshua Baraka unimpressed by Daddy Andre’s song writing skills

Singer Joshua Baraka left listeners stunned after he revealed that he doesn’t rate Daddy Andre among the top music writers.

In an interview with Mr. Henrie, Joshua Baraka was tasked to list his top best lyricists in the Uganda music industry.

Joshua Baraka acknowledged that Daddy Andre is good, but he doesn’t think he is exceptional mainly because he has seen better writers than him.

Giving the late Mowzey Radio’s ‘Ntunga’ song as a comparison to Daddy Andre’s ‘Tugende Mu Church’, Baraka explained how deep and well-crafted the song was with soothing lyrics. He believes that Daddy Andre’s music lacks this type of craftsmanship.

“I have seen better. I do not want to be like I’m attacking, but when we are talking about memorable lines, depth of the lyrics, the story telling. It is good writing (for Andre’s songs), but in my books, I wouldn’t call it exceptional.

It is not disrespectful to him; he is an amazing artist and he does his thing, not my best writer,” Joshua Baraka said.
