Fast-rising singer Jowylanda has addressed her recent absence from the music scene, explaining that she was busy handling family matters that urgently needed her full-time attention.
Speaking to journalists, Jowylanda, real name Joan Namugerwa revealed that the break was a deliberate decision after her brother was violently attacked by a group of unknown goons who beat him to near death. He was hospitalized and stayed unconscious in a coma for three months.
Being the breadwinner in her family, Jowylanda was under so much pressure to look for money and pay all the bills. She had to step away from the music scene because it was too demanding and was taking a toll on her.
There was a time when I had to pay up to one million shillings every day. I was so down to a point that I could not make music anymore. I took a break and decided to focus on my brother, she said.
Jowylanda, however, says that she is grateful to God because her brother has now regained consciousness even though he still cannot talk or walk.
The ‘Nkulina’ hitmaker once known for her active social media presence suddenly became MIA and fans were asking why. She revealed that despite going through a difficult time, it is not her nature to discuss her personal problems publicly so she chose to give herself time off.
