Kalifah Aganaga defends Eddy Kenzo amidst the UNMF controversies

Bad Character singer Kalifah Aganaga has displayed solidarity and loyalty in defense of his fellow musician Eddy Kenzo amidst several controversies regarding the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).

When the Federation was unveiled last year, they elected the Big Talent boss to be their president but since then, Eddy Kenzo has been facing intense backlash from critics who argue that they (federation founding members) started the group to get money from the government. Among them was singer and politician, Bobi Wine who noted that they were feasting on taxpayers’ money.

Amidst all the controversies and the mounting pressure, Kalifah Aganaga has refused to distance himself from Eddy Kenzo and instead chose to defend him at every chance he gets, especially during media interviews.

You are an opposition against Eddy Kenzo, and that is why there is nothing that can come out of your mouth speaking good about him… You say that I don’t have sense anymore because I have supported him but that is your opinion. Even when Eddy Kenzo does something right, you will always twist it.” Kalifah Aganaga told music critic and Kenzo nemesis Jacob Omutuzze.

Eddy Kenzo and a section of musicians supporting the federation have sparked a wave of debate in the industry. Several artists have also come out to discredit them and Kalifah believes they are using politics to cover up their hate for Kenzo.

“The unending desire to please and satisfy people using Bobi Wine’s name. So many people’s enemies hide behind Bobi Wine and the struggle and attack others. A person can have a problem with Eddy Kenzo and hide behind Bobi Wine to insult him. We never started this federation, nor have we ever held a meeting with Eddy Kenzo standing before us to say that the Federation was started with the aim of attacking Bobi Wine,” he defended him.
