Singer Kalifah Aganaga, real name Mukiibi Sadat has hinted is ready to contest for Kawempe North Parliamentary seat to replace the late Hon. Mohammed Ssegirinya.
The news about Aganaga’s possible political ambitions was made public when the official Federation For Democratic Change (FDC) social media accounts posted a teaser of his ‘Ndabirawa’ song insinuating that he will be contesting on the party card.
Kalifah Aganaga has been unveiled today at the FDC Offices in Namasuba, where he picked his membership card ahead of locking horns with fellow contestants including one of Muhammad Ssegirinya’s widows.
Mohammed Ssegirinya died on Thursday afternoon, 9th January at Lubaga Hospital this year. He had been hospitalized since last year due to health complications.

On the day he was laid to rest, his family members selected Alex Luwemba as a candidate they would wish to replace the deceased in parliament.

According to the mother, Nakajumba Ssanyu, the decision was taken during a closed clan meeting where they endorsed Alex, a close aide and personal assistant.
