In a stunning revelation, Kapa Cat, real name Tumusiime Catherine has finally made a U-turn, rejoining her former record label, TAF Music Uganda, after publicly departing the camp.
Kapa Cat expressed comfort and confidence in returning under Mando’s management, citing the label’s instrumental role in launching her music career. She noted that the label made her a household name and she is confident that it will continue pushing her to greater heights.
I left Karma and I’m doing well. I went back to where I started from. When all fails, you go back home. That is why I went back to T.A.F at Mando because it is home. We resumed where we stopped from. TAF brought me to the scene; you know Kapa because of TAF so there is no way they can fail to push me further, Kapa Cat said.
In May 2023, talent managers Arafaty Baddest and Karma Ivien came together to form a new record label, unveiling Kapa Cat as the second signing after Nince Henry whom they had recruited a few weeks before.
However, her tenure was short-lived, as she announced her departure in September of that year, regretting having signed under Karma Ivien.
At that time, Kapa Cat revealed that the label had left her with a debt of over 90 million and significantly failed to boost her career with the only notable project they worked on being ‘Center’, a collaboration with luga flow rapper, Gravity Omutujju.
I swore not to talk about Karma. But the truth is there is nothing I gained from him. No one benefited the other, which is okay, so we had to move on. I rather deal with the devil I know than an angel I do not know. Maybe they had their own plans, but I never understood them so I had to do my own things, she said.
TAF management has welcomed Kapa Cat’s return, promising to build on their previous success and elevate her music career. Their reunion puts to rest rumors of a bitter fallout between her and Mando. Earlier reports suggested a heated dispute had broken out, leading to their initial split.
Kapa Cat later clarified that they had parted ways amicably due to his health issues following the accident he was involved in in June 2022. Mando could not effectively manage her music career and entrusted Karma Ivien to take over, but unfortunately, he did not deliver, leading to their split.

That time, the man had gotten into an accident and needed rest. He proposed to his friends to handle my career and they didn’t. Now we are back to where we had stopped. He can’t fail to promote my music, she added.
