Talent Management company Kibbo Establishment officially cut ties with luga flow rapper Feffe Bussi due to allegations of dishonesty, particularly regarding financial dealings, replacing him with Sqoop Larma.
The company made the announcement during a press conference attended by various journalists, stating that they had been observing the musician’s behavior during their collaboration and noticed a pattern of dishonesty.
As Kibbo Establishments, we have been managing Feffe Bussi but today we have come out to cut ties and denounce any dealings with the said artist from today henceforth. We have not fired him but rather terminated our contract. The reason for this is that for a long time we have studied him and come to a conclusion that it just won’t work between us. The reason for our separation is Feffe Bussi’s dishonesty and not being open, said a stakeholder.
According to Kibbo, Feffe Bussi approached them to join his music camp Feffe Bussi Music (FBM) to help manage his career. Their first project ‘Buzibu Bwo’ released in late 2022 was successful, followed by several hit songs like Influencer, Pretty Pretty and a highly successful solo concert staged at Jahazi Pier, Munyonyo in May.
We knew he was talented and was our friend so it was easy for us to start working with him when he approached us. We had promised him a concert and we delivered., he said.
There were reports that Feffe Bussi collected close to Ugx. 75M from sponsorship deals and table sales for the concert but failed to account for the funds, leaving the entertainment company in debt, as the owner had invested personal savings and staked his property to get additional money to invest in the show.
The concert was staged after promoters expressed doubts about the Feffe Bussi’s ability to attract a crowd, prompting the Kibbo proprietor to use his own resources. However, instead of repaying the investment, Feffe Bussi allegedly kept all the earnings.
The problem came from the concert. That is when he started being dishonest because before, we were working very well. When it was time to organise the concert, we looked for promoters to stage our show but they never believed in us. As a person, I had to believe in my artist and invest the money I had with me. You know a concert is not cheap and we needed a lot of money so I staked my property to have this done,” Kibbo said, denying the allegations that he was using the press conference to tarnish Feffe Bussi’s brand.
Additionally, Feffe Bussi has allegedly booked shows without informing Kibbo and has on a number of occasions refused to perform at shows booked by the company despite having a contract with them.
Following the press conference, Kibbo Establishment announced that they had already replaced him with fresh talent, Sqoop Larma.
