Singer Lil Pazo Lunabe, real name Mukasa Yasin visited the Kabaka’s palace to offer his apologies and also explain to the Katikiro of Buganda after he announced that he had banned his songs, together with Gravity Omutujju from playing on the kingdom stations, citing their vulgarity.
Clad in a Kiganda attire (a kanzu and a coat), the singer was in the company of his friends Hashim and blogger Frank Ntambi together with a group of journalists while they submitted a letter addressing the Katikiro.
Explaining the content in the letter, Lil Pazo Lunabe revealed that he was requesting to meet Katikiro in person and explain to him all that was being said about him and also clarify a few things that he may have pointed out that Lil Pazo was not doing right.
I’m a Muganda man and the reason as to why I’m here is because Katikiro called me out and I knew it was trouble. I have come to deliver a letter to him addressing what is moving around in the media and what he may have read about me on social media, Lil Pazo Lunabesaid.
Immediately after Katikiro’s presser banning Lil Pazo’s music a couple of days back, the singer hopped on TikTok live to address the matter. He says many blogs took me out of context claiming that he was attacking the kingdom for the ban.
Speaking to journalists, Lil Pazo Lunabe denied the allegations, making it clear that he was addressing the UNCC which had worked hand in hand with the association for events promoters to have them blacklisted from being booked at shows.
All this was a lie and it is one of the main reasons I came out here because people have a tendency of tarnishing others’ images. My response was directed to Phina Mugerwa and some malicious people got the clips and put them together with Katikiro’s picture.
I had to run fast and explain myself and let him know that they were trying to destroy my image before him, Lil Pazo Lunabestressed.
Frank Ntambi who was by Lil Pazo’s side revealed that he called him on the phone and they talked for over an hour to find a solution for his predicament.
Lil Pazo has never been disobedient. He respects the cultural norms and is very entertaining. It looked like a very small issue but it was huge. He had to explain himself, he said.
