Maro reveals he halted media interviews due to irrelevant questions about his marriage

Musician Maro Uganda has explained why he had paused media rounds due to the unnecessary and irrelevant questions from journalists.

Maro, real name Ronald Magada, has settled down with his longtime lover, Iris, in Germany, with whom he has been together for over a decade. The couple shares two children.

Six months following his relocation to Germany, several blogs claimed that Iris had married him, citing that she had more money than he did.

Many tabloids and stations wanted to host him, but only to ask him about the allegations surrounding his marriage, rather than his music. With this, he put a pause on all interviews, citing unprofessionalism among journalists.

“It was always one direction and I was not ready to talk about it. I didn’t want to explain to people that they never married me; that it was my decision to get married. Some things are not important for the people who are interested in a different thing. If they come with that agenda, even when you explain to them that it’s not true, they will brush it off,” he said.

Recently, Maro got involved in a car accident in Zambia that almost claimed his life, his daughter’s, and his friends. It was all speculation until Maro healed and availed himself for interviews. His fans had long waited for him to break his silence.

He was, however, disappointed when he had the chance to address the issue on national television. The interviewer immediately asked him unrelated questions after discussing the accident.

“Right after asking me all these questions, they immediately started asking for my view about the federation. I quickly noticed that maybe this person came with some other intentions and doesn’t actually care about my life and what happened. He was not even listening to what I had to say,” he spoke to Sanyuka TV.
