Maro reveals why his penned songs for other artists don’t achieve the expected success

Ugandan vocalist Maro, real name Ronald Magada has been making headlines in the industry with his chart-topping songs, but to the surprise of many, the songs he has written for other artists have not yet achieved the same level of success just like his own music.

In a radio interview, the self-styled RnB Kyabazinga explained why this discrepancy occurred.

Over the years, Maro established himself as a songwriter ready to be hired by serious musicians in the game. He has written for some artists but none of the songs have yielded the desired results.

Speaking about the difference, Maro related it to the unique way he delivers his songs.

According to Maro, he brings a different type of energy and intensity to his hits that is quite hard for other artists to reproduce. He pours out his heart into the lyrics, a personal connection that gets complicated for others.

Despite using the same approach to write his music and others’, Maro believes his execution is what sets him apart from the rest and when other artists sing his songs, they fail to fully express the emotions displayed.

I write all my songs myself. The songs I write for other people are not always successful because there is a way I sing that they cannot; there is a way I want the other person to sing, he said.
