Media personality MC Kats, real name Edwin Katamba, has warned parents to be on the lookout for their children due to the increased drug usage in the country among the youth.
Appearing in an interview with Kasuku Live, the NBS After5 presenter revealed that the growing vice is common among the Gen Zs, and it is getting hard to detect who is using drugs because of their nature lately.
“I encourage parents to be on the lookout because the Gen Z are brighter than them. These drugs do not smell, they are not like normal weed. The drugs have reached schools, so it is easy for them to be with them at home,” he said.
MC Kats further emphasized that drug use has spread through schools and warned parents to closely monitor their kids, whom their peers may easily influence.
Among the many signs that he listed down, Kats probed parents to look out for children who find it hard to sleep, those that lose their temper at the slightest of things plus those with poor appetite.

“They do not sleep. Even when they try, they are half asleep and half dead. Small things start disappearing from home because the kids resort to stealing them and trading them for drugs with their suppliers. Parents with land titles, car logbooks, and other material things should hide them very far because suppliers are willing to exchange anything for the drugs. When drug addicts take alcohol, they do not easily get high. That is why you see them bar hopping the entire day,” he noted.
MC Kats further revealed that drug abuse is on the rise in the bars due to the high number of partiers that find it a cool thing.

MC Kats has consistently fought against drug abuse, especially among the youths, and encouraged families to always take their affected loved ones to rehabilitation centres for help.
