Following DJ Messe Bontwe’s death on 12th December 2024 in the US, plans to repatriate his body have been underway, ahead of a dignified burial in Uganda.
Based on veteran singer Grace Sekamatte’s update, the body left the US on January 14th and is expected to land in Uganda on January 16th, 2025.
The body will be handed over to Executive Funeral Services, and the family before a funeral service that will be held on 17th January 2025 at Munyonyo Church of Uganda.
DJ Messe Bontwe’s body will later be transported to his Home in Kabuuma, and on 18th January 2025, the art industry will honor his legacy at the National Theatre.
The late comedian will then be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Rwampala on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

We are here to let you know that our brother’s body Nicholas Mpiirwe well known as Messe Bontwe has today Jan/14th /2025 left the United States of America.
Nicholas’s Body will arrive in Uganda on 16th January 2025, and he will be handed over to the Executive Funeral Services and the family.
His body will proceed to the funeral home, where it will spend a night, and on 17th January 2025 (Friday), he will head to Munyonyo Church of Uganda for service and then head to his Home in Kabuuma.
On 18th January 2025, Nicholas’s Body will head to the home of the art industry, the National Theatre, where his friends in the art fraternity will view him.
From the National Theater, on 19th January 2025 (Sunday), his body will proceed to his final destination at his ancestral home in Rwampala, where it will be rested on Monday 20th January 2025 at 2:00 PM.
The Team on this cause would want to take this opportunity to thank every individual in the North American Ugandan communities for coming through with this tremendous support of repatriating our Brother’s Body, Nicholas Mpiirwe, who passed on 12th December 2024 from the bottom of our hearts we can never take this for granted.
